Operations and incident-reporting platform for licensed security operations
Client Canadian licensed private security and guarding services operator
Built an operations platform — schedule, deployment, and incident-reporting in one application — used daily by guards, supervisors, and operations management at a Canadian licensed private-security operator.
-
Replaced spreadsheets, paper, and group chats with a single role-based application
-
Incident reports completed and submitted before guards leave the post
-
Operations management has live visibility into who is where and what is happening
Challenge
The client was running scheduling, deployment, and incident reporting through a mix of spreadsheets, WhatsApp, and paper. Reporting lag sometimes exceeded a shift, supervisors had no real-time picture, and audit trails were patchy.
Approach
- Field interviews with guards, supervisors, and operations to understand the actual workflow
- Mobile-first web application — intentionally not a native app — so guards on shift can use it on whatever device they have
- Structured incident reporting with required fields, photo attachments, and timestamped state changes
- Operations dashboard with live deployment view and historical reporting
Result
- Incident reporting now happens in real time instead of at end of shift
- Operations has a live operating picture across all active deployments
- Defensible audit trail for client and licensing reporting
This work sits in the Defense & Public-Safety pillar. The underlying primitives — structured incident reporting, role-based access, defensible audit trail, field-deployable on any device — are deliverable to public-safety and defense logistics programs under D304 / 81101500.
