Operating systems delivered across multiple Canadian dealerships under different OEM constraints

Lead-routing reduced sales-team response time by an order of magnitude
-
Inventory and lead data unified for ownership-group-level reporting
Challenge
Multiple Canadian automotive retailers were running disconnected inventory, lead, and CRM systems — most of them OEM-prescribed and unable to talk to each other. Group-level reporting was a manual exercise.
Approach
- Built a portable core that adapts to OEM-prescribed DMS APIs without forking the codebase per dealership
- Lead-routing engine with role-based queues, escalation timers, and SLA reporting
- Inventory consolidation across ownership-group dealerships for unified reporting
Result
- Multiple dealerships operating on the platform across two ownership groups
- Group-level reporting available daily without manual consolidation
- Platform now serves as the data source for ownership-group decisions on inventory placement
Multi-tenant systems that adapt to platform-vendor constraints (OEM in this case, agency-prescribed software in federal contexts) without forking the codebase per tenant are a recurring integration pattern in federal modernization work.
